A journal that asks you one question a day — and nothing else.

Blank pages are why you quit journaling. Lanterly gives you a single, thoughtful question every day. You write for two minutes, or twenty. Then you're done.

Why one question works when blank pages don't

Every journaling habit dies the same death: you open the app, the page is empty, and you have nothing to say. Lanterly removes the decision entirely.

A new question every morning

366 hand-written questions, never repeated within a year. Some will take you two minutes. Some will take you somewhere you didn't expect.

Watch your year fill in

Every day you write becomes a small ember on your year grid. Streaks, "on this day" memories, and a portrait of yourself that builds one evening at a time.

Private. Actually private.

No account. No cloud. No AI reading your thoughts. Your words live on your phone behind Face ID, and you can export them as plain text anytime.

Questions worth sitting down for

Not "how was your day." Real questions, written by hand, that give you something to push against.

"What's something you're holding onto that's no longer yours to carry?"
"Who would be surprised by how often you think of them?"
"What's a rule you live by that you've never said out loud?"
"What did you want badly once that you're now glad you never got?"

Simple, honest pricing

Your first 7 days of questions are free — long enough to know if this is your thing. After that:

Fair questions

Is my journal really private?

Yes. Lanterly has no accounts and no server that stores journals. Your entries live in your phone's local database, optionally behind Face ID. We measure anonymous app usage (which screens get used, how often people write) — never the words you write.

What happens when I miss a day?

Nothing bad. The question changes the next morning, your streak resets, and the lamp stays lit. This is a journal, not a drill sergeant.

Can I get my writing out of the app?

Always. One tap exports your entire journal as plain text — yours to keep, print, or back up however you like.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. iPhone first; if enough people ask, we'll build it. Tell us at [email protected].
